METAL was born in June 2006 in Barcelona as an independent publishing project with a curious eye and an international spirit, a heady mix of fashion, photography and art whose pages can boast some of the hottest talents of the moment.
Last Semester, Teixits Vicens “granted” student Joan Morell collaborating with ikat fabrics for his final industrial design project at Escola Superior de Disseny in Palma de Mallorca.
He´s designed a convertible bed sofa made in wood and fabric only. It does not have any screw but wooden pieces that you can easily remove in order to take apart all the pieces and storage it all.
He got an A*
Nowadays, he´s at Bd Barcelona doing his practises.

Last Summer, Joanne visited Teixits Vicens in Mallorca looking for ikat handmade fabrics.
She spent the last year designing these soft furniture pieces specifically for the Ikat, with removable covers for washing. The ottoman and low seats are filled with organic cotton.
