Monocle came to Teixits Vicens to recorde the way we produce our fabrics.

A real trip througout history…

Its time for celebrations! Summer is coming and so are weddings, baptisms, firts communions and all sorts of events…

Teixits Vicens has just launched its first bow&tie bow collection by Carlos García handmade with ikat fabrics.

Teixits Vicens is just finishing 61 green b new fabric.

Inspired on  60 green fabric, we started producing model 61 to offer small drawings last year.

We launched 61 black and 61 blue with this very purpouse.

61 design it´s being so successfull that we are thinking about making it in more colours such as yellow, violet, red…

Local business first meeting to create a new association to group together artisan industry, food and agriculture products will be held today in Palma. Its aim will be to promote Km0 & quality products.

Teixits Vicens, Flor de Sal des Trenc, Especias Crespí, Pep Lemon, Agroilla, Can Caló o Huguet Mallorca are the pioneers in creating this new collective where anybody producing in Balearic Islands could take part of.

Brands like Formatges Burguera, Font des Teix, Cooperativa de Sóller o Vins Mesquida have already shown interest in taking part of the association.

One of its promoters, Biel Huguet, explained that the goal will be to promote the products made in the Islands by creating a brand of quality  and tradition.

Teixits Vicens is just about to weave 104 lemon yellow fabric, 101 pink is already done!

To make the change we have to tie 2052 threads from 101 pink fabric to 104 threads.

For this process, we use a machine that ties them one by one… Can you imagine how long did it take in the old times?

At Teixits Vicens we dye our own colours. Did you know that once they are already taken from the basin they don´t still have their real colours? It takes from 4 minutes up to 8 hours to get its real colour depending on each colour.

Today, we´ve beign dyeing lemon yellow, but as soon as the scanes were taken from the basin, they were dark grey. Now they are gold yellow, but at the end of the day, they will be already lemon yellow.

If you wan t to see the manufacture process come and visit us in our workshop in Pollença. You might not see the dyeing process, but all manufacture moments are very interesting!
